The economic structure of society has rapidly changed, from manufacturing-centered to a service oriented economy. Amid this change, the tourism industry is filling an increasingly larger role in our life. Therefore, the demand for tourism experts with a sense for globalized enterprises has also increased. To satisfy this social demand, the Department provides a curriculum which contains practical subjects, such as understanding of tourism and development of English proficiency, and is maintaining industry-academic cooperation systems with tour agencies, hotel and other tourism-related companies for more effective on-the-job training opportunities. Moreover, vibrant exchanges through cooperation with tour-related higher educational facilities in advanced countries are underway to nurture global tourism experts.
