The KIWU established the International Education Center in 2004 to further international cooperative programs. The mission of the IEC is to foster the global dimension of the college by promoting, supporting, and developing a wide range of global and inter-cultural mobility initiatives for the members and partners of the Kyung-In community. The IEC has also strived to broaden the dissemination of Korean studies outside of Korea through the Korean Language program and other outreach programs.
With experienced teachers using a variety of efficient teaching methods and resources, the IEC provides top-quality language learning and offers opportunities to experience Korea through extracurricular activities, such as field trips, speech contests and an International Day. The Korean Language program aims to fulfill international students' interest in the Korean Language as well as culture.
The Ministry of Education, Science and Technology designated KIWU as the leading university in terms of supporting a Korean language training program. The following are the key building blocks of the IEC’s enduring commitment to internationalized education and research.
- Serve as the administrative link connecting Kyung-In and the international community.
- Act as a support network for public relations activities related to international affairs.
- Supervise the administration of all international exchange and academic programs on both the student and faculty levels.
- Assist full-year and short-term inbound and outbound programs in a wide range of academic fields.
- Promote foreign students' Korean Education and the understanding of Korea.
- Assist all incoming and currently enrolled international students by supporting and promoting interaction with and integration into the Kyung-In community at large.
